The Faraday Lecture
The Faraday Lecture was found in 1924 to commemorate the life and work of Micheal Faraday. As a pioneer in the field of electricity and electromagnetism, his work laid the foundation for many of today’s advances in technology. Over the past 80 years, the lecture has developed a tradition of presenting cutting edge technology in an exciting and interactive format.
Each lecture has explored a different aspect of electrical and electronic engineering with topics such as digital technology, communications, smart living, fighting crime, robotics and transport, highlighting the diversity and excitement in this high technology profession. The Faraday is organised annually by the IET with the support of team of presenters, all young people involved in science and engineering.
